Ultimate Goal
Weekly and monthly programs offered to capture continued
interest of the children will be guest speakers, therapy
dogs and performances such as www.MadScience.com
and local musicians and actors. Adult speakers with
special needs will offer insight into how well people
can adapt themselves and how anything is possible. Education
will also be continued through educational DVD and VHS
viewings as well as computerized distance learning where
beneficial and with assistive technologies when necessary.
As we do not have a center/facility in place as yet,
the programs will be implemented in steps, those most
needed being first on the list. Our ultimate goal is
to provide these services on a sliding scale or free
of charge to families of lower-middle to lower income
brackets, and all children are welcome. Families with
such challenges should not have to choose between therapies
for the child and food or paying bills.

Why are we so interested in helping kids? Here's our answer...

PROGRAMS, PROJECTS & OBJECTIVES
Our goal is to fund therapeutic services for children with physical and mental disabilities initially in Thurston and Mason Counties WA, with the following objectives:
FUNDING FOR:
"SPEECH, LANGUAGE & AUDITORY THERAPIES"
- To increase the communication skill set of each child by funding recommended speech and listening therapy services for up to one year following commencement of services with monthly feedback to parents and teachers plus quarterly evaluations and reports. This enables the child to better assimilate to his or her social environment plus increases the ability to perform academically.
"OCCUPATIONAL & HIPPO THERAPIES"
- To decrease the child's sensory overreaction to environmental stimulation by funding occupational and hippo therapies for up to one year following commencement of services with monthly feedback to parents and teachers plus quarterly evaluations and reports. This positively affects the child by removing sensitivity to aggravating stimulus, increasing positive behavioral conduct and focus in classroom as well as daily life situations.
"SPONSOR A CHILD"
This allows philanthropists of every shape and size to cover a child's expenses for a year up to an agreed sum. You choose the child by life story, current needs and your choice of services. Some children require only one type of service, some require several types of services plus assistive technologies and training. This program may be completely customized to your abilities and preferences. Corporate sponsors welcome!
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Through offering families a place to connect both physically and online, our Exceptional Families Network has expanded throughout Western Washington State. With the redesign of the EFN web site, we hope to bring a wealth of knowledge to the entire state and soon include other regional states. We also assist established organizations such as The Boy Scouts of America in establishing programs which are geared toward the child's success through sponsorships and ongoing consultations.
